Rank Amazon Listing on Google

Many of the rules that follow will seem incredibly obvious in amazon SEO, yet many SEO Campaigns are launched with disregard to the basic truth. Therefore, they almost always fail. so we will show you how to Rank Amazon Listing on Google

But, Rank Amazon Listing on Google, we came to a simple but dramatically powerful formula for ranking them consistently and repeatedly.

1. On Page Optimization Counts!

Beware of going overboard with keywords. Google is very good at knowing what your product is about by how you write about it.

Don’t worry about percentages of keywords or anything like that. Just be real and robust. Talk about everything you can imagine about your product. Use bullet points and great descriptors and change them often.

And I don’t mean to change the meaning of what you are saying, just move it around from time to time. Google and Amazon both like change. They think there is then attention being paid to the page (which there is) and will come back sooner to spider and cache your changes. (You want that!)

2. Titles Count Even More

Now this is where you DO wants you to get keyword specific. Titles are the most important on-page component when optimizing pages to rank on Google.

Not only get your keywords in your title, but also want you to put the most important keyword that you want to rank for in the beginning of the title!

This means if you want to rank for a “pure Garcinia Cambogia” keyword, then put it in the beginning of your Title.

For example, here is the 1st page ranking on Google for “Pure Garcinia Cambogia” and guess what, it is exactly what the first 3 keywords are in their Amazon title.

Now it took way more than that to rank this page for “Pure Garcinia Cambogia” but many times you can rank an Amazon page with great content and a keyword driven title alone.

Detailed driven keywords, for example “Silver Pill Box Necklace.” Google ranked two Amazon pages for this and neither of them have any incoming links whatsoever, it was entirely done by the on-page optimization and having the keyword in the beginning of the title.

Google LOVES Amazon pages and is looking for any reason to rank one, so this maybe all you have to do for a less competitive market.

You may even be surprised. Most vendors in competitive markets are NOT optimizing their Amazon pages to rank on Google. And even less of them are sending links to them.

But for those who don’t get ranked on our excellent onPpage optimization with the keyword at the beginning of the title, we need to look at what is ranking and why. And like I said, most often it isn’t much!

3. Reverse Engineering

When you know you are in a tough market and know that your on-page optimization just isn’t going to do it for you, dig in and get your competitor’s numbers, beat those numbers, and you win.

It is pretty simple when you know what to look for and sometimes more complex in execution, but never impossible. You will have to reverse engineer one of the MOST competitive keywords to rank for, and it all comes down to better optimization

4. Find Your Competition

Go to Google and search for the keyword you want to rank for. In this case it will be “pure Garcinia Cambogia.” Find the first Amazon Ranking and click on it so we can copy the URL in the browser.

Note: I know you are going to say, well , that title has “pure” in front of it. And yes you are right, it does, and when you are lucky, you will rank for multiple variations of your keyword and this listing got lucky enough to rank for both. And probably other keywords I haven’t checked. Lol

5. Spy On Them

you can use MajesticSEOSemrush  But, whatever tool you use is ok. I only recommend sticking to one because you will get to know it and it will serve you well as a barometer.

If you are using ALL of the tools, and there are many, your work will dilute.

6. Get the Dope

Paste that URL we copied in step 4 into MajesticSEO’s search bar. (Letter A in the illustration.) Click Search. What you get back is an array of numbers and charts all that may seem Greek to you but actually are just telling you how trusted this page is and how many links it took to get that trust.

NOTE: When it comes to links and the quantity to get trust, LESS IS MORE! we will explain in a bit, but first, let me tell you what all the measurements mean.

majestic seo

Letter A: Where you paste the link.

Letter E: Last minute addition (in blue boxes) because it will default to that, but thought I would highlight to use the “Fresh Index” and “URL” path.

Letter B: This is Majestic’s Measurement for authority. They call it “Trust Flow.” A 43 is extremely high, but we knew this was going to be a competitive keyword.

Letter C1 and C2: These two measurements are directly linked to each other. C1 is the exact number of incoming links Majestic is reporting and C2 is a reflection of that amount.

The lower the citation flow the better. Normally a 52 citation flow would be a disaster if the trust flow was less then 20, but this pages trust flow is a remarkable 43 so it makes the citation flow look great!

Letter D: I almost dumb’ed this down and made “Referring Domains” the point of reference instead of “Referring Subnets”, but for all of you SEO purists, we will talk briefly about the difference between the too and why Referring Subnets is really the truest number to take when looking at external linking sites.

While in this case study, this page has 7,886 incoming back links. Of which, 1,429 are from different “Referring Domains” or different websites. Of that number, 1065 are on different cPclass Ips.

7. Anchor Text

The next thing we absolutely have to look at is what type of anchor text they are using. This is what gets novice SEO’s into trouble today.

For this example, that would look like all my anchor text saying “Garcinia Cambogia” 90 of the time. What works now is less then 10 most of the time and even that may be too high.

At this moment in time, I recommend using ONLY your URL as anchor text! Penguin is typically the algorithm that deals with these types of penalties, but Panda is the one that started it so ultimately both are watching for any type of what they call spam linking.

Let’s look at case study to see what type of anchor text they are using.

amazon anchor text

like that they are 78 other individual keyword phrases, that is important but concerns the small amount of URL anchor text. They have less than 4 exact matches for their money keywords, “pure garcinia Cambogia” and just plain “garcinia Cambogia” which they are ranking for each in Google.

8. Get Geeky

Go beyond the surface and actually LOOK at their links! you could literally spend all day looking at competitors’ links. Look at these links none of them are natural! Every last one of them come from blog networks and most of them are “footer links!”

How long will the Rank last up there?

Someone else (hopefully YOU) may come along and get a higher trust flow score with better anchor density, or, Google may strike them down the next time update similar runs.

we believe their anchor text and the lack of URL anchor text is going to bite them at some point. I did notice that most of their links are coming from the website “homePpage” where most of the authority of a site lies and that is how they were able to get that incredible trust score of 43 from just 924 subPnets!

Are they beatable? Absolutely! Is this a tough one? Absolutely. But if you really wanted to, all you need to do is either create or buy into a blog network with at least the number of subPnets they have and get links from mostly the homePpage of those sites with better anchor density!

Conclusion

To rank higher then your competitor for an Amazon page in Google, make sure your title starts with the keyword you want to rank for and if that doesn’t work then look up your competitor link metrics and if using MajesticSEO like we do, then get a higher “Trust Flow” score with less then the one that is ranking now.

Is this a fail-safe rule of thumb? Yeah it is, but I am sure there are exceptions as there are to every rule. Just as I am sure you will find Amazon pages ranking, the keyword is NOT in the beginning of the title.

Just think what will happen when YOU do it right and out rank them and then laugh just cause you put into play an incredibly obvious but neglected rule of thumb.
